Detection of the DNA of selected pathogens in whole blood using molecular techniques (PCR, nested PCR).

If the DNA of Borrelia sp. is detected in the tested sample, additionally, DNA is sequenced to confirm the species (Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato or Borrelia miyamotoi).

IMPORTANT! Detection of Borrelia miyamotoi is possible ONLY using molecular methods. There are NO SEROLOGICAL test for detection of specific antibodies, so far.
